“I built Crash Warning because my own Mac kept freezing in the middle of work. Once it was an Android emulator I had forgotten, running with no window. Another evening the disk went from 12 GB free to 2 in a few hours, without a word. Activity Monitor gives you numbers. I wanted something that tells you what to close, before it is too late.”
I build apps, run AI models or edit video. Is it for me?
Yes, those are the Macs it was made for. It names what is really using memory, from Chrome tabs to an Android emulator running with no window, coding agents like Claude Code and local models like Ollama. And it tells you when something, like a video export, eats gigabytes of disk within an hour. It works just as well on a Mac that only runs a browser and mail.
When does it warn me?
The bomb changes colour straight away. An alert only goes out when it lasts, because a Mac dips into orange many times a day. Orange waits ten minutes, red goes out after one. And if something eats 5 GB of disk within an hour, it tells you which file grew.
Which Macs does it run on?
Macs with Apple silicon (M1 and later) running macOS 13 Ventura or newer.
Does it slow my Mac down?
No. Every five seconds it reads a handful of numbers macOS already keeps. The list of apps is only read when you open the menu or one of its windows, never in the background.
Is the disk cleanup safe?
It only offers files that apps make again on their own, like caches, installers that already ran and old build files. Your documents, logins and settings are never on the list. Everything is measured before anything is deleted, an app that is open is left alone until you close it, and the Trash is never ticked for you.
Will it quit my apps without asking?
Never. Quitting always asks first, and apps get the normal Quit, so they can ask you to save. Nothing is ever force quit.
What permissions does it ask for?
Notifications, so the alerts reach you. Optionally Focus status, so it can tell you when a Focus is hiding them. Emptying the Trash asks to talk to Finder, and a few caches need App Management. It explains each one before macOS asks.
What happens when the trial ends?
Nothing breaks. The bomb stays in your menu bar and keeps changing colour, and the menu still tells you when your Mac is struggling. Buying it unlocks the percentage, the steps, the app list, the cleanup and the alerts.
Why is it not on the Mac App Store?
App Store apps are not allowed to clean other apps’ caches or quit other apps, which is half of what Crash Warning does. So the full version is sold here, directly from me.
When does it launch?
As soon as Apple has checked and approved it for download outside the App Store. Join the waitlist and you get one email that day.
